How to increase the Influence at the workplace?
To be an effective in organization today, leader must be able to influence people, The title of the leader alone isn’t always help to influence others, nor the formal position, What’s the best way to position yourself as an informal leader? How does the leader motivate colleagues to support the initiatives?


Having influence on workplace has a clear value , its important to be able to command influence, because of the increased pressure on getting results. 
Here are some tips
Build connections
One of the reasons that people do things for the leader , support the idea is because they like the leader. A person doesn’t need to be awesome or a person with a blown charisma , the leader just needs to have a good rapport with his colleagues . This helps the leader to let others to listen to him. So leader should work on cultivating personal connections with the colleagues, and allow them to get to know him 
Listen before you try to persuade
The best way to key colleagues for liking the agenda is to make them feel heard. Start by giving them your undivided attention in one to one situations. A big part of workplace resentment is people feeling disrespected and their voices aren’t heard


Mind the body language
People are constantly evaluating whether to trust the leader or not, Employees are asking the question, ‘Is this person a friend or enemy? Is this person trying to challenge me, or are we on the same side? The leader’s body language is critical to convey the right ,Standing up straight with the shoulders back helps to come across as confident and commanding;May be the leader has a meeting with a colleague he doesn’t know well from another division. Then the leader is suggested to keep the arms uncrossed , pinching the voice  little lower than normally does in order to connote power 
Develop expertise
Another way to increase the influence at work is to “Identified as a recognised expert” in the organisation , Leader can take different steps to develop business critical expertise, By regularly attending industry conferences , enrolling a class or specialised certification program may be help to create the knowledge, as well as leader need to be up to date regarding the industry
